We animals are sentient beings. Not only are we bright but we also have the full range of feelings and emotions that you do – such as joy, empathy, compassion, grief, and fear. A study of dogs in the US also provides further evidence that we animals experience emotions. Dr. Gregory Berns, a vegetarian neuroscience expert from the USA, found something amazing. When dogs saw a hand gesture for a treat, the region of the brain called the caudate nucleus, that exists both in dogs and humans, produced the same reaction found in the human brain when a person anticipates desirable things like food or money. Animals look out for one another as well! What about gratitude? Most certainly, we animals are deeply grateful when we receive help from others. Every species is so happy and excited when a new baby is born! When a calf is born to an elephant family, every member is so cheerful!
