“We were giving him scratches all the time. And then all of a sudden, we heard this sound. And we were like, ‘Oh my gosh, he actually purrs like a cat!’ He basically goes into this frozen mode. He almost melts because his beak starts getting heavier. He’ll just be in a very relaxed state. But when we brought him here, he was just not in the best condition. So, he didn’t purr as a baby. We weren’t in the market. We weren’t planning on adopting or picking up any birds. But it was just very unfortunate to see the poor babies like that. They were in a dark setting under blankets and in small cages, I don’t know what kind of infection was going on but he had scabs and like cysts throughout his skin. So, we got Touki. I did extensive research to oversee his diet and make sure that he gets everything he needs. And he’s thriving now.”

“Salvador was rescued from a dairy farm in Chile by the Equality Sanctuary Interspecies. And now, six months later, he loves the affection he receives from the caregivers who saved his life. It’s amazing to see how much this cow loves being caressed. After a rough start in life.”

“As soon as you say ‘Sterling,’ she starts laughing, does these big tail wags and comes right to the door. Sterling is very much one of my vocal, happy foxes. You are so happy. She is a hundred percent the extrovert. She loves to greet you, she loves attention, she likes to play, she likes new people, she likes human interaction. Sterling came to us as an owner-surrender twice. The veterinarian decided that she would probably be best in a place like ours. A sanctuary where she could get the proper attention, and all of those things that come with caring for a fox.”

As you can see, my caring human friends, we animal-people are just like you! We want to be loved and live our lives in peace, happiness, and freedom.
