On December 24, 2017, our Association members from around the world gathered for Christmas Eve festivities with beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, also known as Formosa. We will begin with Part 1. “Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! I hope you remember the unconditional sacrifice and love of Jesus Christ. That’s why we celebrate, so we remember it at least once a year.” Two thousand years ago, Jesus was born in Bethlehem and brought innumerable blessings to the beings of this world. Since then, this special day is known as Christmas. Master once said, “The best way to celebrate Christmas is to meditate, pray to God to know our true selves, and to become one with Jesus again.” So at this time of the year, let us pray for all the sentient beings of the Earth with love and gratitude in our hearts. Next, let’s enjoy an energetic dance called “Mountain of Youth” brought to us by sisters from Tainan, Formosa (Taiwan). Next, please enjoy a play “The Birth of Jesus Christ” presented by Taipei Center, Formosa (Taiwan). Christmas is a festival of Love. Jesus Christ had sown spiritual seeds and reminded people of the way Home. “Joy to the World, the Lord has come. Let earth receive her King. Let every heart prepare Him room, and Heaven and nature sing, and Heaven, and Heaven and nature sing. Joy to the World, repeat the sounding joy!” Nowadays, the sacrosanctity of Christmas seems to center on commercial activities as well as eating, drinking, and a lot of outward pleasures, this is a misinterpretation of the true meaning of this auspicious day. Because of such trends, Christmas Day like many traditional festivals, has become a day of suffering for the Enlightened Master. In the midst of our enjoyment, a large number of our animal friends have been sacrificed. This heavy karma incurred has to be endured silently by the Master in the form of illness. Great Masters have been coming to Earth in different times. Our Master, the Supreme Master Ching Hai, is the great Master of our time. Born into this world, She strives to elevate people’s consciousness. Master, You are a gift from God to this world. You teach us by example the meaning of unconditional love and selfless dedication. You help us understand the real meaning of Christmas, which is to emulate the spirit of Jesus Christ, to learn to share, give selflessly, love all people and animal friends.
