Dr. Ervin László is a Hungarian American scientist, humanitarian, and inspirational philosopher. Twice nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, Dr. László is renowned for his expertise in systems philosophy. His 2023 book “The Survival Imperative: Upshifting to Conscious Evolution” presents a scientifically grounded viewpoint on the challenges confronting humanity during this pivotal period of crises. “Never before has humanity as a conscious species been put to the test like this. That’s the choice we now face: to continue on the road toward crisis and incoherence and suffering, or choose an alternative way forward, which ensures the life, the survival, and the flourishing of the human community.” “Up shift of every individual is to rejoin the great symphony of life on Earth. Our community is the community of life on Earth. We have got to live in a way in which this community can survive and can flourish. Otherwise, we will risk our survival on the planet. So, it’s a great challenge, and it’s up to each person to come into himself and herself, recognize that we are meant to live together, to exist together, and to evolve together.”

In the July 2022 edition of Scientist Magazine, many scientists expressed fear that we are in the midst of the sixth mass extinction. “We have less and less options and possibilities in front of us, to the extent that we remove diversity. When we reduce the diversity, then we reduce the alternatives, the options in front of us.” “Meat eating is not healthy. We create too much carbon, as we know, and also destroy some basis of life on the sea bottom, and in space, and also on the surface of the Earth. We need to find the best way, the sustainable way of using our resources, or energies, or renewable as well as non-renewable resources. Share the resources, share this blue-green planet, that has enough for everybody’s lives, but not even for one person’s greed.”
