Although Reverend Bear was a pastor for many years and later a chaplain, it was thanks to his open-mindedness toward different spiritual paths that led him to become vegan through his discovery of the Buddha’s teachings. Following this transition, Reverend Bear has continued to advocate for veganism and animal-people rights. On his spiritual vegan journey, Reverend Bear has discovered that many who follow the world’s religions do not act in accordance with what they preach or are taught. Our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) has made the point many times that the problems our world faces today are a direct result of humanity not putting into practice what their religions have taught them. Our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) repeatedly reminds humanity what awaits those who continue to choose this soul-destroying path. “Your choice will affect your future, and affect the present even. Because you eat meat, you will get sick. That’s the immediate karma. And the future karma is hell, worse than sickness.”“My sense is that the biggest factors and obstacles are willful ignorance, our human, psychological defence mechanisms, and also the fear of pushback that comes from when we identify as vegan with friends, family, and colleagues. I find that there's a lot of willful ignorance that allows people to continue to consume animal flesh and products without making any connection with the reality of what is on the plate.”On July 29, 2022, our Most Compassionate Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) made the last call to everyone still walking the path to eternal hellfire. “If you turn vegan and repent sincerely, I will really take you to Heaven. Guaranteed. Within six months from today.”Reverend Bear also wishes for humanity to awaken soon. He appreciates that being a vegan allows him to serve both humans and animal-people and considers it the best decision he has ever made. “And I can say that when I'm on my death bed, reflecting on my life, becoming vegan will be considered the thing that will give me the most peace, the most comfort— knowing that I used my life to try to live with as much kindness and compassion as possible to the beings that we share this planet with.”
