On Friday, June 14, our Most Loving Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) tearfully conveyed a heartfelt message to all fathers for Father’s Day, reminding us of the immense parental love and devotion we are blessed to receive from them, and that we should always try to honor and cherish our parents.

Most beloved, dearest fathers that I love, who have been nourishing me, raising me and sacrificing everything for me, life after life – whether we have met again or not yet – I offer you my most sincere gratitude. May God bless you all in whatever situation you are in.

The children, including myself, have never been as good as we should be. Being young and ignorant of the hardships of life, we have not… well, not all of us have truly repaid your love and kindness in the way a child should do. And when you get older already, weak, feeble, or not well, we just come now and then to say hallo or bring some stupid gifts. I thought the children should never leave the parents. At least, always live nearby so that whenever you need, the children will be able to run to your house and take care of you. I wish you all the best abundant Blessing from Heavens and Earth and anywhere else possible.

There’s nothing that can compare to the love of the father – quiet sacrifice, humble endurance, fighting with the world with all his might to protect his children, to show them love, to teach them discipline, to give whatever the children might need, abundantly, as much as a father can give. Fathers, even when you’re sick, or when you’re heartbroken for any reason, when you feel like you need a rest, you still get up and go out into the challenging world to protect us, to earn every little penny to keep us safe in our little nest. I could never list all the goodness, all the unconditional loving deeds that you do for the children. Please God, bless all the fathers. Thank You, Lord.

I don’t see you anymore, all of you, my fathers from many, many, many ancient lifetimes until now. And this lifetime also, I don’t see you anymore. But at least I have brought you to safety and a blissful environment of my own creation in Heaven. Even then, I still want to see you so much so that I can hold your hand, bring you a cup of tea, cook you some (vegan) congee soup when you’re not well to eat solid food. I have never done enough for you, and also for mother. I’m forever regretful and forever repenting.

We can never honor our parents enough. We can never love our parents enough. And sometimes when we realize it, they’re already gone. So enjoy your parents while they are still with you. Respect them, honor them, obey them.

I know my parents are in Heaven, in the High Heavens, and they’re happy, but I still miss them a lot. [...]

Even if we have grown up already, I think we still all do need parents’ advice, guidance, and love. When I had my parents, for a short while in Hong Kong because they were permitted to come out to see me, just for a short while, I felt like I was a child again. I was so happy. Unfortunately, I could not keep them long around me. I wish I could.

Our situation in the world is not always favorable for families, especially in some political situations. Politics and war sometimes have no room for family love or human love. It is sad. I do wish that one day we truly achieve permanent peace on our planet so that no family members ever have to be separated from each other again. And that they can enjoy their love while their physical beings last.

I wish you have better luck than I do, meaning having your parents for a long, long, long time and enjoy their love. And I wish your parents to be healthy, happy and have very, very filial and good, virtuous children, who make them proud. Enjoy your parents for me. I love them also because they are good. They are the best friends that we can have in this physical life. They are the best.

I can only say to you, fathers, and all parents, whether biological or adoptive, you give us all the best that you can, you give all the things you could afford, and sacrifice all quietly for the sake of wellness of the children under your wing – either you have given them birth or you have adopted them with all your love, all your care, all your blessing. May Heaven bless you forever, in the name of God. I love you. All my fathers, please forgive me for any wrongdoing or any neglect. Over all these lifetimes and in this lifetime, I don’t have any excuse for all the neglect that I have committed to you, fathers and parents.

Please, all the children in the world, treasure your parents. They are the symbol of Heavens, of God’s unconditional Love, and boundless sacrifice and tolerance. I have no better words to praise them. Please love them for me, when you still have this fortune to have your parents in your physical lifetime. And I wish all of you to do good, so that you can transfer good merit to your parents before it’s too late. Just be vegan and dedicate your merit to your parents. Be a good citizen and dedicate that to your parents. Do whatever you can for your parents.

May God bless you all, fathers of all the lucky children. May God bless you all, all the fortunate children. Remember your parents, whether they passed away or they are still in your life. Take good care of them. Do your best to repay just a little bit of the love that they gave to you, of all the sacrifices they have done for you.

And if possible at all, please get enlightenment, search for a Master who can liberate you, and practice spiritually, diligently, so that you can also liberate your parents, whether they’re still alive or already went somewhere else in the Universe. That is the best, the most filial of all duties that children can do. Bless you.

May God bless you all, parents and children. Amen. And I love you.
